In the Midst of a Pandemic

Sometimes 

I try to look 

beyond this 
pandemic 

to see 
where 
I will be, 

and to see 
where 

you will be.

Sometimes 

I wonder 

if there is                    
a cure, 
or if this                   

pandemic 

will break 
my heart 

the way
it has
broken
so many
more.

And sometimes 

I wonder 

if it has  

already 
broken 
yours.
